At Next Step Home Move Management, we provide a menu of services because every move looks different. We will customize our services to meet your needs and create an individual estimate based on what services make sense for the client who is ultimately in the driver’s seat. The client will control the amount of work we do and the costs associated.

PRE LISTING PREP

Are you considering putting your home on the market? When this decision is made, leaving the home you have lived in for decades and dealing with the task of sifting through years of collected possessions can seem like an insurmountable task. Homes show better for sale when the various rooms and spaces are clear and clean. Next Step Home Move Management can get your home ready for sale. Our team will pack non-essentials helping to get the client’s home ready to be photographed and listed for sale. We will also declutter rooms and stage rooms enhancing the home’s appearance. Additionally, we can coordinate with realtors to make sure the home is ready for numerous showings.

COORDINATING PROFESSIONAL PACKING & MOVING SERVICES

We plan, coordinate and organize the entire process, from beginning to end. We make all the necessary arrangements and ensure that everyone involved is kept informed of your schedule, from your realtor or your new residence manager to the professional movers. Our staff is trained to handle all valuable and personal items and will pack fragile heirlooms with care. We will provide detailed inventories, properly categorizing items and labeling them to make the unpacking easier. We will create custom floor plans for new spaces to save time and make sure unnecessary items do not follow clients to their new home. We also hold virtual meetings if needed when a client or family member cannot be physically present. Additionally, we can coordinate placement of family heirlooms with family members. When all the packing has been completed, Finally, Next Step Home Move Management will schedule and oversee movers on move day.

DECLUTTERING & ORGANIZING

Clutter creates chaos in life and leaves little time for organization. We also understand that the process of letting go can be emotionally complex. We know that sorting through one’s belongings is a deeply personal experience. We can simplify home offices, file and reduce paper by recycling or shredding, clean out attics, garages, or storage containers. When you look around your home, it’s possible there are some unused items taking up valuable space. A general rule is if you haven’t used an item in 3 to 6 months, it may be time to let it go. Ask yourself some questions about your item. Is it useful right now? Are you willing to repair the said item if it’s broken? Would you feel guilty if you tossed it or donated the item? We can help with the sale, donation, or disposition of any of your goods.

SENIOR TRANSITIONS

The Next Step Home Move Management team can help seniors downsize with dignity. We provide emotional support and assist seniors in the difficult task of decluttering and packing their many treasured items. Our staff has a deep understanding of the emotional and physical aspects unique to senior moves. We can help seniors feel in charge during their transitions. It is important that they don’t see the transition as something happening to them. There is the physical aspect of moving, but there is also the emotional side of leaving what seniors have known. We can act as a neutral sounding board and a voice of reason when walking the family through the hard task of letting go. The Next Step Home Move Management team works with families to keep their fondest keepsakes, consolidate them and decide which ones make the move, which ones stay in the family or which ones make the transition to a new owner. We can provide virtual meetings with adult children when they cannot be physically present. We can also help emotionally prepare older adults for assisted living as we have worked with many other clients in similar situations.

SPECIALTY MOVES

We consider, non-traditional moves that may require additional expertise, ”specialty moves.”

Military Moves – We can handle the packing for personally procured moves.

Divorced Parties - We can be an unbiased 3rd party to facilitate and maintain progress when dealing with the division of personal property and household separation. We will inventory all property, documents, devise selection systems, provide supervised division and pack the contents of the home for each party.

ESTATE CLEAR OUTS

The handling of an estate – regardless of condition – is a process of seemingly endless decisions involving paperwork, clothes, electronics, books, furniture, art, housewares and family heirlooms. Clearing out a family home can not only be an emotionally draining project but a physically taxing one as well. We specialize in estate clear outs and often work with clients who are facing significant life transitions and can manage the details of an estate. We can help prevent family conflict. We can calmly provide an objective perspective and guide families through the process of deciding which things to keep, sell, or donate. We can help take the emotion out when sorting through the memories.

JUNK REMOVAL COORDINATION

Whether a client needs a single item to be picked up or a whole house cleaned out, we’re ready to step in and coordinate the disposal of items no longer needed.

TRADES MANAGEMENT

We have an extensive network of established and trusted vendors. We can recommend and oversee the project to be completed..

OFF SITE STORAGE MANAGEMENT

Provide detailed inventories and organize the space.

DOCUMENT TRADING

Coordinate with mobile shredding service to pick up documents requiring shredding.

LIQUIDATION SOLUTIONS

Coordinate what to do with belongings not being moved – sell, dispense to family, donate, repurpose, recycle or dispose.

OTHER SERVICES
AGING IN PLACE

For seniors not ready to make the move, we can assess their home and make recommendations for safety modifications to allow the senior(s) to comfortably stay and remain at home. We will redefine spaces to fit current and future needs. We can coordinate with and oversee contractors to complete home repairs and/or upgrades.

MOVE DAY ASSISTANCE

Sometime clients have the packing under control but would still like an extra person to be present and oversee movers on move day. We can assist and coordinate the staff to make sure these wishes are met.

SETTING UP A NEW RESIDENCE

We supervise the movers who load the belongings for transport and then supervise the unloading and placement of the furniture and boxes - ensuring everything is placed according to the client’s specific floor plan. We then unpack all belongings, make the beds, and arrange things in kitchens and the bathrooms. Our goal is to create a feeling of home in this new space and leave our clients feeling positive about their move.
